Born in Ekaterinburg in the family of the well-known Russian artists, I became an artist myself.
I graduated from Sverdlovsk Art College (Graphics department) and soon after graduation began my artist career at the Sverdlovsk Cinema Studio and in the Opera House. In 1978 I moved to Alma-Aty (Kazakhstan), where I studied in the Art Institute of the Drawing Department and also worked in the tapestry studio at the Fine Arts Center and worked on the projects of the Ministry of Culture of the Kazakhstan Government. From 1990 I mainly worked as the icon conservation and restoration specialist working on the orders from antiquarian salons, as well as as batique, tapestry, egg tempera techniques artist and took part in various combined art exhibitions organized by the Artist Union in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Since 2002 I live in Godalming, UK, where I continue my artist career. To enhance my technique in icon conservation and restoration I took Guilding restoration course in Florence (Italy) and work as an icon conservation and restoration expert in the "Icon-Russ" on-line gallery in UK (United Kingdom). Presently I am the full member of the Society of Tempera Painters (www.eggtempera.com) and the Guilford Art Society. A few words about my parents whose works you can find in this gallery. He was a well-known instructor at the Academy of Architecture at the Drawing and Paining Department. My mother, Elena Roschina, had graduated from the Moscow Pedagogical Institute of Art. Throughout her career of an artist she participated in personal art exhibitions and taught drawing and paining courses in the Ekaterinburg Architectural Academy. Her art works are now in the private collections in Russia and abroad. |
